Trimming trees and bushes

In general, bushes need to be trimmed more often than trees, but depending upon the type of bush, you may not need them trimmed as often as your lawn is cut. Determine your fertilizer needs

If you know the type of grass you have, then you are likely to know the type of fertilizer it needs, and how often it should be used. But you will still need to make sure that the lawn service uses fertilizer as a part of their service, and if the type they use is acceptable to you. If you don't know much about fertilizer, then you should at least be using a law service that does. Most lawns need fertilizer. How often and at what time of the year it is used will depend upon the area of the country you live in. A lawn maintenance company should know how to take care of your type of grass.

Do they edge and how is it done?

Edging is not always done, so you need to ask about this. Equally important is how the edging is done. Today, it is common to use a weed whacker, but there are those who believe a lawn looks better when an edger is used. If this is your preference, you need to make sure they have the proper equipment.

Do they remove weeds?

Every lawn will have an occasional weed. It is important to know if there will be any weed maintenance that is included in the lawn service. This includes any weeds that are protruding from a sidewalk. These weeds are easily removed by a weed trimmer, but you should still inquire about this before you hire anybody.
